“For me, writing is exploration; and most of the time, I'm surprised where the journey takes me.”  Jack Dann (Author).

Colin came from Oldham in the north of England in 1945.
He attended various schools where he played a lot of football and cricket which left very little time for anything else.
Achieving an “O-Level” pass in Engineering Drawing, he wisely took his teacher´s  advice and left to join the family shopfitting business.
For some years in the sixties and seventies he was responsible for the design of many shopfronts and restaurant interiors in Lancashire.
Most of his working life was spent in the building trade where his only writing was specifications for  building projects.
He retired in 2000 and, together with his wife Merril, set off from the UK in a campervan.
They settled on the Costa Blanca where Colin started to write of their travel experiences. These were serialised  in a local magazine under the pen-name “Colincampsite”.
Encouraged by those around him, he started writing short stories of a humerous nature and at one stage had a fleeting ambition of writing a serious novel. The feeling passed.
His weekly column in the Euro Weekly News was well received by it´s readership. Unfortunately this came to an end after four months because of the lack of space due to an increase in adverts and a decrease the number of pages.
He now writes the Costa Blanca Computer Club column in the Costa Blanca News as well as short stories.
